Simon and Stephanie

I'm continuing on with different series. Susan Hill has published her third book about Simon Serrailler, "The Risk of Darkness". This series is rather dark, lots of deaths. I like them despite this because the characters are interesting (the main character is one of a triplet, for instance). Another feature is, that in contrast to many other dectective novels, there are no easy answers - sort of like real life, I guess.
Courtesy of my library I have now read the 12th Stephanie Plum book. Janet Evanovich did a better job on "Twelve Sharp" than on number eleven. This one had some real laugh-out-loud scenes, which I always like. I guess I'm not the only Janet Evanovich reader in Uppsala - I only got a two week loan on the book.
One can wonder a bit about the naming of books in a series. Sue Grafton has used the alphabet, which gives the series a natural end. That is unless she moves over to other languages, then the possibilities are large - but finite. Janet Evanovich, on the other hand, has giver herself enless possibilities - even though "Four hundred and seventy one" doesn't lend itself to snappy titles.
